This wooden hammock by Australian industrial designer, Adam Cornish is exactly what every father needs for Father’s Day. It is designed based on the human spine and constructed with small rubber vertebra for comfort.
Constructed from 32mm birch ply from plantation grown wood, Cornish minimizes its environmental footprint and aims for no waste. The hammock mimics our body’s spine with many parts to allow for movement and flexibility yet the added rubber adds a softness to the user.
While wood is usually not a material we would equate with hammock comfort, the thought and design of the construction and sensitive use of birch makes this a beautiful, sculptural hammock.
